Hey there! ✨ Last June 2 the ‘Blue Dolly Day‘ was held in Barcelona, and it was the third edition of the Dolly Day event.
Do you want to see the great time we had? Come in, keep reading, ther’re lots of pictures! 💙
Welcome to the ‘Blue Dolly Day’
This year, the place chosen for the event was once again the Hilton Diagonal Mar Hotel, as the second edition of the Dolls&Party. The room was much larger and brighter than the previous one at the Catalonia Hotel.
Upon entering, the staff received you with the classic Welcome Pack. In this edition, the first 100 welcome packs had one of my postcards. I hope you like it! ☺
Then, in front of the entrance, you could see the Doll Photography Exhibition, in which I also participated with the ‘Ldoll Festival’ picture of Nebula. I have to thank Zodake and Yllia Dolls for collaborating with their work, thank you very much!
Going straight, in the center of the room, there was the Doll Exhibition. There you could find Bjd, Pullip, handmade dolls… well, all kind of dolls!
At the end of the room there was the stage, the boxes for the raffle tickets and the donations from the sponsors.
And there was the Dollfie Dream, yes, a Dollfie Dream!!! You’ve read it well. It’s the first Volks‘ donation to a Spanish doll event. It was a DDH-15 in a Dollfie Dream III body with an L-bust. And they did not only donated a DD, but also an MSD girl.
For me, it was unthinkable to see something like that back in 2014, in the first Dolls&Party. The only ones we had DD were Murasaki.me, wich was a vendor in that event, and our friend group from Figuradictos lol (it’s a Spanish figure/doll forum). Oh, sorry, I just felt nostalgic 💙 But it’s really great, my congratulations to the staff for having achieved this, and many thanks to Volks for this donation ☺ Oh, and of course, I bet everything on her ✧◡✧
There were many stands in this edition of Dolly Day, but as the room was large, you could walk around them quietly and without crowds.
As if this was not enough, The Dolly Day staff organized several activities throughout the day: mini raffles, photo memories, photocalls… In this last one we had a good time with our DDs 💙
And almost at the end of the event we celebrated what I would say is ‘the cherry on top of the cake’ of these events: the charity raffle. It’s exciting because you could go home with a new doll in your arms and, if you don’t win, your money goes to a good cause (thanks, again, to the sponsors). Anyway, I didn’t win the Dollfie Dream 😭😭😭
I don’t know why, but I’ve never purchased so few things in a doll event 😶. Maybe it’s because I’m already starting to have a lot of everything, but I also love what I bought.
For Azone: a Nénelle et Lalluli outfit and a pair of Rocking Horse shoes.
For DD: a bunny-shaped sandwich and a straw hat.
And that’s all! I always say it but it’s the truth: it makes me very happy to see my friends again at these events. Also, after so many years, I still know new people, I really enjoy it ☺
This hobby has the power to bring together very different and very talented people thanks to dolls. Let’s take care of this beautiful hobby and let’s meet again for many more years 💜
